Terms of Service
These are the terms for using 956 Sharp, a knife-sharpening service operated by Pioneer Zeal Enterprises LLC in McAllen, TX. Booking a pickup means you agree to them. They are written plainly on purpose.
The service
956 Sharp sharpens plain-edge kitchen knives by hand on Japanese whetstones. We do not sharpen serrated blades, scissors, or power-tool blades. If a knife you hand us falls outside that, we return it unsharpened at no charge.
Pricing and payment
Prices are the ones listed on 956sharp.com on the day you book. Payment is due when the knives come back to you, not before. You can pay by Cash App, card through Stripe, or cash at return.
Turnaround
Standard turnaround is 24 hours from the time of pickup. The 3-hour expedite, where available, is also counted from the time of pickup. If something on our side will push a job past its window, we text you before the window closes.
Pickup, return and hours
Pickup and return are free anywhere in McAllen. In Edinburg, Mission and Pharr the pickup is $10. Pickups and returns run 4–7 PM daily.
If you choose drop-off, we send you the address by text after you book.
Condition of your knives
At pickup we look each knife over, note any chips, cracks, or tip damage that is already there, and photograph it. Repairing that kind of damage is separate from sharpening and is quoted before we do any of it.
Our responsibility
We take reasonable care of every knife from pickup to return. If a knife is lost or damaged while in our care and it is our fault, we repair it or reimburse its fair replacement value.
We are not responsible for damage that was there before pickup, or for defects in the steel that only show up under sharpening.
What you confirm
By booking, you confirm that you own the knives, or have the owner's permission to have them sharpened, and that they are clean when we pick them up.
Cancellations
Cancel any time before pickup at no charge. Just text us. Once the knives are picked up, the job is under way and the listed prices apply.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, text us first. Almost everything gets sorted in one conversation. Anything that cannot be is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any legal action is brought in Hidalgo County, Texas.
